Job summary

SludgeTEK Ltd - Part of a Mitie Company in Andover is seeking a Workshop Based Engineer to maintain and improve the reliability and compliance of workshop and mobile processing equipment.

You will carry out servicing, fault-finding and repairs at the Andover workshop, oversee subcontract labour, and ensure work reports are completed in line with company procedures and health & safety standards. A recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial installation and control systems (PLC or microprocessor-based)
• Knowledge of motor control methods (Star/Delta starters and inverter drives up to 130kW)
• Experience in water/utilities/processing environments is desirable
• Full, clean UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, inspection, and repair of workshop equipment and assets
• Service, fault-finding, and repair of mobile and static processing equipment in the Andover workshop
• Work in line with company procedures, standards and health & safety
• Support and oversee subcontract labour to ensure safety and quality
• Complete accurate reports and contribute to continuous improvement

ROLE: Workshop Based Engineer
HOURS: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30)
LOCATION: West Portway Industrial Estate, Andover

We're looking for a Workshop Based Engineer who will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and compliance of specialist workshop and mobile processing equipment within our SludgeTEK business.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, inspection, and repair of SludgeTEK workshop equipment and associated assets
• Undertake servicing, fault‑finding, and repair of mobile and static processing equipment within the Andover workshop
• Work in line with company procedures, industry standards, and all health & safety requirements
• Support and oversee subcontract labour to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Complete accurate work reports and documentation using company systems, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with industrial installation and control systems, including PLC or microprocessor‑based systems
• Knowledge of motor control methods such as Star/Delta starters and inverter drives (up to 130kW)
• Experience within water, utilities, or process/manufacturing environments (desirable)
• Full, clean UK driving licence
