Job summary

Infocus Resources is hiring a Civils Works Manager for a major civils project in the West Midlands. You will oversee construction activities, lead the delivery team and subcontractors, ensuring safety, programme adherence and quality across a groundworks site.

Applicants should have strong civils groundworks experience, be able to manage ducting, concreting and drainage works, and hold SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid certificates with a driving licence.

Qualifications

• SMSTS qualification required.
• CSCS card required.
• First Aid Certificate required.
• Driving licence and willing to travel with own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Ensure works are delivered within cost and quality, per client principles.
• Lead site weekly meetings covering health and safety, programme and KPIs.
• Manage workforce and subcontractors in line with site policies.
• Maintain accurate records throughout the works.

About the job

We are currently looking for a Civils Works Manager for a Major Civils / Construction client of ours based in the Black Country area of the West Midlands.

The Works Manager will manage and supervise construction activity supported by the Delivery team and supply chain partners. The Works Manager will need to demonstrate strong leadership and operate with collaborative management behaviours and effective communication skills.

The Works Manager will manage a site consisting of gangs of various civils site groundworks staff working alongside Self Delivery personnel and various specialist sub-contractors. The scope of work will consist of Construction, Civils Groundworks, including ducting, earthworks and applicants must have a solid Groundworks/ Civils background and experience of ducting concreting, drainage installing manholes etc.

Applicants must have a high level of site safety knowledge and experience and be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of processes and procedures in accordance with the Health and Safety Act 1974.

About the Role

• Ensure works are delivered within Cost and quality, in accordance with the clients Principles - End Result - Projects delivered to time, cost and quality.
• Perform the above tasks in accordance with the clients Charter - End Result - collaborative behaviours demonstrated across stakeholders.
• Lead Site Weekly meetings ensuring health and safety, programme and work package KPIs are adhered to.
• Ensure the workforce and nominated subcontractors discharge their duties in line with site policy & agreed procedures
• Ensure accurate record keeping is maintained throughout the duration of the works

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

• Driving license and prepared to travel using their own vehicle.
