Overview

Job Title: Workplace Services Facilities Team Leader

Salary: up to 28000 per annum

Hours per week: 35 hours per week on call rota in line with business needs

Location: Youll be required to work from our head office in Wigston Leicester.

The successful applicant must have the pre-existing right to both live and to work in the UK.

About the role

We are searching for a professional self-motivated Team Leader to join IOSH within our Workplace Services team. Our head office The Grange is the hub of IOSH and within this role youll be integral in ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard and the Workplace Services team provides a seamless and consistent service to the wider organisation.

In this varied role no two days will be the same. Youll have overall responsibility for managing the organisations Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system deputising in the absence of the Workplace Services Manager and conducting regular review of spend against budget requirements within the team.

Youll be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders ensuring efficient delivery of a customer focused and cost-effective service whether you are agreeing terms with a new supplier resolving an issue with IOSHs facilities or responding to an emergency situation.

This is an onsite role forming a key part of our business continuity and operational cover including participation in the on-call rota and working a 35-hour week in line with business needs which may include weekends and bank holidays .

Responsibilities
  • Managing the Workplace & Facilities team providing them with positive support advice and encouragement in their development and conducting regular 121 meetings.
  • Ensuring all weekly monthly & annual building compliance is undertaken and recorded to include fire health & safety and legionella with adherence to all relevant legislation.
  • Leading on the planned preventative maintenance programme including scheduling and supervising of Contractors.
  • Contract management to include regular reviews of services and contracts monitoring delivery against contract as to value for money.
  • Managing staff rotas including on call and annual leave to ensure cover including weekends and bank holidays.
  • To manage the CAFM system ensuring accuracy of records providing regular reports and analysis to the Manager.
What you’ll bring / Essential criteria

To be successful in this role youll have prior experience in leading workplace and facilities teams providing clear guidance positive support and regular one-to-one meetings to help develop and motivate your team.

Youll have a solid understanding of building compliance requirements including fire safety health & safety and legionella.

Using your excellent organisation and planning skills you will have the ability to lead and monitor planned preventative maintenance programmes. Additionally you will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to easily build rapport whether it be with colleagues across the business or when liaising with suppliers and organising contractors.

Possessing strong administration skills and attention to detail you will ensure that records are accurate and up to date. You will be resilient when under pressure and be proactive in identifying and resolving operational issues quickly and effectively.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills particularly developing and coaching a facilities team and developing staff rotas.
  • Experience in ensuring building compliance (e.g. fire checks health and Safety and legionella).
  • Knowledge and operational understanding of environmental fire and health and safety best practice and general efficiency initiatives in Workplace Services Estates and Facilities Management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to operational issues.
  • Proven experience in facilities management or workplace operations ideally in a leadership or supervisory role
