Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc in Farnborough is seeking a Workplace Manager to coordinate and optimise workplace environments across the estate, aligning with Real Estate, Facilities Management, Operations and senior stakeholders.

You will lead workplace change (moves, reconfigurations, refurbishments) and drive space utilisation, resilience and sustainable service delivery with on-site attendance at least three days per week. The role collaborates with Engineers, IT, HR and business leaders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in workplace management, facilities management, estates operations, or a similar environment-focused role
• Experience delivering workplace change initiatives (moves, reconfigurations, refurbishments)
• Experience analysing workplace, utilisation, or performance data to inform decisions
• Strong stakeholder engagement across multiple business functions
• Professional qualifications in workplace, FM, or estates management are desirable (e.g., IWFM)
• NEBOSH or IOSH knowledge desirable
• PRINCE2 or APM experience considered beneficial

• Maintaining a consistent standard of service delivery across all sites
• Implementing workplace strategies that support organisational goals and employee experience
• Analysing occupancy and utilisation data to optimise space and drive cost-effective estate decisions
• Acting as central contact for leaders across Estates Strategy, Facilities Operations, HR, IT and partners
• Drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal standards

Job description

As a Workplace Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring workplaces across the QinetiQ estate are effectively supported, efficient and equipped ready to support the growing onsite presence of our staff. Acting as the operational link between Real Estate, Facilities Management and Operations, Heads of Site, Project Delivery, HSE, IT/OT, and business/programme stakeholders, the Workplace Manager needs to foster cross functional collaboration aligning the workplace environment with corporate and departmental objectives, user requirements and evolving ways of working. Day-to-day, you'll lead on coordinating workplace change (moves, reconfigurations, refurbishments), and drive space optimisation, resilience, service quality and sustainability within mixed use office environments ranging from open plan collaboration spaces, meeting rooms and lab environments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of workplace environments ensuring they are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently
• Maintaining a consistent standard of service delivery across all sites, ensuring workplace issues are resolved promptly and effectively
• Implementing workplace strategies that support organisational goals, new ways of working, and employee experience
• Analysing occupancy and utilisation data to recommend improvements, optimise space, and drive cost effective estate decisions
• Acting as the central point of contact for business leaders, Estates Strategy, Facilities Operations, HR, IT, and other partners
• Ensuring all workplace environments comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal standards
  Proven experience in workplace management, facilities management, estates operations, or a similar environment-focused role
• Demonstrable experience in delivering workplace change initiatives (e.g., relocations, reconfigurations, refurbishments)
• Experience analysing workplace, utilisation, or performance data to inform decision-making.
• Strong track record of engaging with stakeholders across multiple business functions
• Ability to drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement
• Strong awareness of statutory and regulatory workplace requirements, Accreditation in, or strong working knowledge of, workplace health, safety, and compliance requirements. Ideally NEBOSH or IOSH
• Project management experience, ideally with a formal qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) considered beneficial but not essential
• Professional qualifications in workplace, FM, or estates management are desirable (e.g., IWFM)
