Job description

Location: Leeds or Worksop (hybrid working, with nationwide travel)

Contract: 2 years fixed term

Why Greencore?

We’re one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers, employing over 14,000 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots nationwide. We supply all the UK’s major food retailers with everything from sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals—and in FY24 we generated revenues of £1.8bn.

Our purpose is simple: to make every day taste better.

Greencore is in the middle of a significant transformation of how we plan, schedule and pay our colleagues across a complex, shift-based, multi-site operation. We’re looking for a senior Workforce Management Programme Lead to own the delivery of a new Time & Attendance / Workforce Management (WFM) solution end-to-end – from design and build through to rollout, adoption and benefits realisation.

This is not a generic HR project role. You’ll be the person who joins the dots between HR, Operations, Finance, IT and our sites to land a robust labour model, accurate scheduling and compliant, efficient T&A processes at scale.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be accountable for leading the T&A / WFM programme across Greencore’s UK footprint. In practice, that means:

  • Shaping and owning the roadmap for T&A / WFM across factories, logistics and central functions, aligned to our wider HR and business strategy.
  • Leading the implementation of a new T&A / WFM platform, including design, build, testing, cutover and hypercare.
  • Partnering with HR, Operations, Finance and IT to define the labour model, scheduling rules, pay rules and controls – ensuring accuracy, compliance and a better colleague experience.
  • Running programme governance: RAID, SteerCo packs, status reporting and stakeholder engagement up to Exec level.
  • Tracking and realising benefits (labour cost, productivity, compliance, data quality) and using insight to refine the model post-go-live.
  • Leading a mixed team of project managers, analysts and site SMEs; influencing without always having direct line control.
What we’re looking for

You’re an HR / people-side transformation leader who has actually delivered WFM and T&A systems in environments that look like ours (i.e. food manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, large-scale retail or similar)

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading or owning a Time & Attendance / Workforce Management implementation in a large, multi-site, shift-based business (factories, depots, or big retail estates).
  • A strong operational HR backbone: workforce planning, pay and allowances, rosters / shift patterns, compliance and employee relations in unionised or heavily scheduled environments.
  • Credibility with HR, Operations and Finance – you can talk labour models and productivity one minute, colleague impact and change story the next.
  • Clear, confident communication at Exec / SteerCo level; you’re used to setting out options, risks and trade-offs and getting decisions made.
  • A commercial, analytical mindset: you’re comfortable with data, benefits tracking and building cases for change.
  • Resilience and pragmatism – this is messy, multi-site, real-world change, not a clean greenfield build.

Experience with specific platforms such as Kronos, UKG, Dayforce, Infor, Blue Yonder, Workbrain, SAP, Workday or similar will be a strong advantage, as will experience working within a transformation office or PMO structure. CIPD or equivalent is helpful but not essential if your WFM/T&A track record is strong.

You must be based within a reasonable commute of Leeds (LS1) or Worksop (S80) and willing to travel regularly to sites across the UK. Right to work in the UK for the full 2-year fixed-term is essential.

What you’ll get in return

  • Competitive salary and job-related benefits
  • 25 days Holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension up to 8% matched
  • Life insurance up to 4x salary
  • Company share save scheme
  • Greencore Qualifications
  • Exclusive Greencore employee discount platform
  • Access to a full Wellbeing Centre platform

Throughout your time at Greencore, you will be supported with on the job training and development opportunities to further your career.

If you’re energised by complex workforce challenges and want to shape how a £2bn business manages time, labour and productivity at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
