  • PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: up to £80,933 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

We will be running a one stage interview process for this role with interviews starting from 1st December.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Community of Practice, Recruitment & Governance Lead, you will shape frameworks that support employee communities and drive structural change across recruitment practices, working effectively as a team with other HR Centres of Excellence ensure our recruitment, training, and talent development processes deliver for all our colleagues.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The BBC is transforming its Talent and Inclusion team to ensure we have the right structure, skills, and expertise to deliver for audiences and meet the demands of a fast-moving media market. The Workforce Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team will represent a Centre of Excellence for workforce diversity and inclusion expertise and will work across the BBC to deliver on the diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Partner with key stakeholders in Talent Acquisition to design strategic organisation-wide interventions which address barriers to inclusion and access within the recruitment process. Design should include taking an analytical approach to understanding recruitment data and experimenting with solutions based on inclusive recruitment best practice and a solid understanding of recruitment data, and how to make structural change across organisations.
  • Build a strategic pan-BBC framework for staff networks and community groups to ensure they have the support and resources they need to thrive within the BBC. Evolve the BBC staff network proposition into communities of practice that are aligned with organisational priorities and set up to drive cultural and operational impact.
  • Work alongside the Creative Diversity team on the design and day-to-day management of the diversity, inclusion and belonging governance proposal, using project management skills to ensure accountability for strategy delivery.
  • Support on central diversity, inclusion and belonging activities including, FOI requests, procurement equalities assessments and equality impact assessments, as well as ad-hoc requests.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Strong understanding of diversity, inclusion, and belonging principles and demonstrable experience designing and delivering organisation-wide D&I initiatives, particularly in recruitment, governance, and employee engagement.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic frameworks for staff networks or community groups aligned with organisational goals.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a role which manages organisation-wide recruitment processes/systems, or which has practical experience of developing inclusive recruitment practices on a systemic level.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting recruitment and workforce diversity data to inform inclusive practices and decision-making, as well as experience developing diversity and inclusion success metrics and tracking progress against those.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and manage governance structures and/or steering groups across large complex organisations. Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional projects with attention to detail and accountability.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
  • Skilled in building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including HR, talent acquisition, staff networks, and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, responding to ad-hoc requests and shifting priorities with professionalism and discretion.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and experience conducting equality impact assessments or procurement equalities reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to respond to reactive requests and represent the D&I function professionally.
  • Familiarity with change management or organisational development.
