About the Role and our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to join us as a Workforce Development Coordinator . Sitting at the heart of our HR & OD service, this role supports the fast paced delivery of solutions-focused Learning and Organisational Development (L&D/OD) services across the Council.

Your day-to-day work will be varied, ranging from coordinating high-profile projects like our Work Experience Programme, Staff Awards, and Staff Network Day, to managing L&D systems, administering training, and drafting engaging staff communications.

We place a strong emphasis on potential, determination, and enthusiasm. You don't need to be a seasoned L&D expert to succeed here. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and make a difference. To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Organisational & Administrative Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage multiple tasks effectively, and deliver projects within deadlines.
  • A Digital-First Mindset: Confidence using workplace IT tools, including Google Workspace, alongside the adaptability and willingness to learn new systems, platforms, and technologies to support effective ways of working.
  • Great Communication Skills: An inclusive, customer-focused approach to building effective and positive relationships with colleagues, managers, and external partners.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: A solution-focused mindset, with the adaptability and resilience to navigate challenges, identify practical solutions, and continuously improve processes.
