Job description

Job Description

Canopius is due to go live with Workday Financials in Q1 2027 following the migration of key Finance processes to the new platform. The Workday Data Analyst will join the Application Support team to support the implementation of Workday Financials, working alongside the Workday project team. The role will provide specialist technical support, with a primary focus on Prism Analytics, Accounting Centre and the end-to-end movement of data into and through Workday.

The role will focus on UAT, go-live and the post-go-live period, working with Finance, Data, IT, project teams and third-party suppliers to investigate and resolve data-related issues. During go-live and post-go-live support, the role will help stabilise the service through rapid triage, root-cause analysis and fix-forward activity, while contributing to the future support model and transition into BAU.

The successful candidate will bring relevant Workday and data experience into the project and share their knowledge with the permanent role and wider Business Applications function. They will create practical documentation, support knowledge transfer and provide initial basic training and support to help AMS prepare for ongoing live service.

This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days per week from our Manchester office.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide second-line technical support for Workday data services, including Prism Analytics, Accounting Centre and associated data pipelines.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues, processing failures, reconciliation differences and incidents affecting financial outputs.
  • Use SQL and other appropriate diagnostic tools to analyse data, identify root causes and support effective resolution.
  • Understand and support the end-to-end movement and transformation of data between source systems, data platforms and Workday Financials.
  • Support interfaces feeding Workday, including assessing the impact of source-system, configuration and data-structure changes.
  • Provide technical analysis for complex incidents and work with Finance, Data, IT and third-party suppliers to restore service.
  • Support Workday Financials UAT, go-live, fix-forward activity and the transition from project delivery into a stable live-support service.
  • Support controlled changes and releases by completing impact assessments, technical testing, implementation activities and post-implementation validation.
  • Create and maintain clear support documentation, operational procedures and troubleshooting guidance.
  • Share specialist knowledge across the wider Business Applications team through coaching, documentation and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Provide knowledge transfer, initial training and practical support to the wider AMS team to build readiness for Workday live support.
  • Work closely with the project team to triage defects, assess data impacts and support timely resolution during UAT, go-live and post-go-live stabilisation.
Skills and experience:
  • Practical experience supporting data-intensive business applications in a live-service environment.
  • Experience of Workday Prism Analytics, Workday Accounting Centre or comparable enterprise data and financial platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience investigating data quality, transformation, integration and processing issues.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, interfaces, source-to-target mappings and end-to-end data flows.
  • Experience supporting UAT, go-live, fix-forward, hypercare or transition-to-service activities for a major system implementation.
  • Experience working within structured IT service management processes, including incident, problem, change and release management.
  • Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear guidance for users, support colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience creating support documentation, knowledge articles and operational procedures.
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to share knowledge and help build capability across the wider team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a project environment, prioritising defects and issues during critical delivery and stabilisation periods.
  • Experience transferring knowledge to permanent support teams through training, documentation and collaborative problem-solving.
