Work Placement Coordinator

Job Title: Work Placement Coordinator
Department: Work Based Learning
Campus: South Downs
Salary: Grade 3 Spine Point 11 – £24,299.61 (actual salary £9,190.03)
Contract Type: 16.5 Hours Term-time only.

The right candidate will have data entry experience, proficiency in IT and an ability to communicate with students and employers alike. Candidates will also have total commitment to the College's vision, mission and values, be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have a proactive and creative approach to sourcing placements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver an outstanding provision that is highly responsive to all stakeholder needs while remaining fully compliant with relevant legislation, audit requirements, financial regulations and funding guidelines.
  • To liaise with Account Managers to help with sourcing employers for WEX and Industry Placements.
  • Promotion of WEX and Industry Placements to curriculum, to ensure there are improvements in participation levels, and these improved levels are maintained.
  • To compile reports for the Head of Faculty on participation levels in WEX and Industry Placements to ensure adherence across the whole curriculum, and report on study programmes where participation is low.
  • Contribute to tutorials as and when required to support all work-based opportunities.
  • Respond to student enquiries and issues with regard to placements, offering support, guidance and help to contribute to an outstanding learner experience.
Requirements
  • Qualified at Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Recent industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of current FE funding and delivery programmes.
  • Ability to engage with employers and learners.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
