Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised Work Experience Coordinator to join our Quality and Learner Experience team. In this role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of the College’s work experience, employability, careers, enrichment and tutorial programmes. You will support the Head of Learner Experience to ensure students across all campuses benefit from high-quality personal development opportunities that enhance their progression, wellbeing and future success. You will work closely with employers, curriculum teams, external agencies and student groups to design and deliver a comprehensive programme that includes work experience placements, careers guidance, enrichment activities, student voice initiatives and the Students’ Union.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate work experience and work placement programmes for full-time students across the College.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with local employers to secure high-quality placements, employer visits and engagement activities.
  • Track and monitor all student placements and provide accurate information for MIS reporting and end-of-year completion analysis.
  • Lead the delivery of an employability programme, ensuring key personal development themes are embedded throughout.
  • Oversee the UCAS process in partnership with curriculum teams.
  • Ensure the IAG team delivers a high-quality, impartial service through 1:1 advice and group sessions.
  • Coordinate careers-related events and employer engagement activities across the academic year.
  • Lead the College’s enrichment programme, working with staff to deliver a timetable of clubs, societies and student activities.
  • Plan and deliver a calendar of themed events including careers fairs, HE fairs, and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) activities.
  • Coordinate the Student Union, student voice forums and other student engagement events across all campuses.
  • Manage the College’s tutorial programme, ensuring coverage of safeguarding, employability, progression and Fundamental British Values.
  • Work with curriculum, safeguarding, wellbeing and quality teams to develop learning resources and activities that promote students’ personal development.
  • Support initiatives that improve attendance, behaviour and learner engagement.
  • Liaise with external agencies, voluntary organisations and community partners to extend support for learners and reduce the risk of students becoming NEET.
  • Support the delivery of the College’s Student Services Strategy in line with the Strategic Plan and Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role and organisational needs.
