Job summary

McDonald’s invites applicants aged 16–19 to join the local restaurant for a five‑day paid work experience. Placements run 9am–3pm, Monday to Friday (or Wed to Sun) across two week options: 02/11/26–06/11/26 or 09/11/26–13/11/26. You’ll work as part of the crew and gain hands-on hospitality experience.

The programme focuses on teamwork, problem solving, leadership and goal setting, and helps you practise CV writing, job applications and interview questions to boost your future employability.

McDonald’s in-person work experience

Our Work Experience Programme offers you the chance to join the crew of your local restaurant for five days. Gaining valuable experience of an exciting and high-performing workplace, while developing essential skills that will last you a lifetime. The programme has been carefully designed to help prepare you for the world of work, whether you’re just starting out or want to brush up your skills after a break, or career change. As well as developing essential skills like teamwork, problem solving, leadership and setting goals, you’ll have the chance to practise key employability skills like writing CVs, job applications, and answering interview questions. Placements take place across 5 consecutive days, either Monday to Friday or Wednesday to Sunday.

About you

We’re looking for candidates with a professional attitude, who are enthusiastic, dedicated and committed to getting the best from the experience, whether you’re just starting out, or looking to shake up your skills.

You don’t need to have ambitions to work at McDonald’s, or even in the hospitality sector. The experience will set you up for a role anywhere, developing skills that all employers are looking for, and giving you the confidence to apply. This opportunity is open to those who have reached the minimum school leaving age for employment within your country or region.

This is a one-week paid work experience opportunity for applicants aged 16–19. The placement will run from 02/11/26-06/11/26 or 09/11/26-13/11/26, 9am–3pm each day. Please only apply if you meet the age criteria and able to attend the placement dates.
