Job summary

A community support organization in the United Kingdom seeks a passionate Job Coach to assist autistic young people in their journey to independence and employment. You will have the chance to shape a Supported Internship Programme, working closely with students, employers, and support staff. Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of autistic young people? If so, Kisharon Langdon are looking for a Job Coach to join the team.

Salary: £26,666 - £29,273 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hour per week (term time only)

Location: Edgware, HA8 7LF

Who we are:

Langdon College provides an exciting and flexible programme of study for students with learning difficulties, disabilities, social anxiety or autistic spectrum disorders, who are aged between years and who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

We ensure our students experience a supportive and nurturing environment. Our specialist team of professional teachers and support staff offer tailored education packages and programmes to meet individual needs and abilities.

With a wide range of support, our students learn and gain crucial independence and life skills, while improving their confidence and preparing them for their next stage in adulthood.

Job Coach - The Role:

We are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm for working with students who have multiple learning difficulties, and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition. You'll be working as part of our Langdon College team, with the exciting opportunity to shape and deliver our Supported Internship Programme in collaboration with host employers. Through this partnership you will support students on their journey to independence and employment.

Job Coach - Key Responsibilities:
  • You will play a pivotal role in our interns' journey towards paid employment and independent living
  • On Job Coach support for students; this includes supporting all students with job search, application and interview preparation, and the provision of one-to-one job coaching and employer support
  • Identify, develop, and maintain a range of suitable work experience and supported internship placements
  • Provide individual and small-group support to help students identify and achieve personal career and employability goals
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers, supported employment agencies, and training providers
Job Coach - You:
  • Five GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Level 3 qualification in Supported Employment or willingness to work towards
  • Certificate of attendance at a Job Coaching training course or willingness to complete
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and build effective partnerships with individuals and organisations
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of stakeholder management
Job Coach - What we offer:
