Position Overview

Work Based Assessor Carpentry and Joinery.

Fixed term for 3 months, variable hours.

Up to 35 hours per week for the first 4 weeks after appointment, variable thereafter.

Salary: £32,528 - £35,721 per annum (pay award pending).

About the College

UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Responsibilities

The role will involve conducting work-based assessments and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation for candidates undertaking vocational qualifications; developing industry and employer links and generating new business for the college.

Qualifications
  • Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery at SVQ L3 or PDA level 7 or equivalent apprenticeship/time-served qualification.
  • Preferably assessor or verifier qualifications such as D32, D33, D34, A Units, V units or recent assessor/verifier awards.
  • A current driving licence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to assess candidates.
Additional Information

Variable hours up to 35 hours per week, providing a variety of working hour options, potentially suited to someone self-employed, with an ability to work part of the week with UHI Perth.

First term is 3 months; extension is possible but not guaranteed.
