Job summary

England Rugby seeks a Women’s Game Director (Maternity Cover) to provide senior strategic leadership across the Women’s Game and deliver its key priorities. You will report to the Executive Director of Women’s Game, oversee the portfolio, and work with senior RFU leaders and external partners to embed Women’s Game priorities nationwide.

The role requires managing a team and delivering the Every Rose Action Plan, ensuring alignment with the sport’s long-term strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Significant strategic leadership experience in complex multi-stakeholder organisations.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
• Proven capability to advise at senior and Executive level with clear strategic recommendations.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting and ROI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using digital planning and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the Every Rose Action Plan and related priorities with measurable outcomes.
• Oversee delivery of the 2026/27 and development of 2027/28 strategic plans, with investment needs.
• Shape and evolve the long-term Women’s Game business model, financial performance and governance.
• Manage relationships with Premiership Women’s Rugby and external partners to grow the game.
• Use data and insights to identify risks, opportunities and needed interventions.
• Provide strategic leadership and governance across the Women’s Game portfolio.
