Active Staff are pleased to be representing a manufacturing company in Swindon who are looking to add a Wiring Technician to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining cable harnesses used across a range of electronic systems. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Job role
- Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Cut, strip, crimp, and solder wires to assemble cable harnesses to specification
- Install connectors, lugs, and protective coverings as required
- Conduct continuity and electrical tests using appropriate testing equipment
- Inspect finished harnesses to ensure compliance with quality standards and rectify any issues identified
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, materials, and test results
- Provide feedback on design or process improvements where appropriate
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process
- Adhere to all company safety policies and industry regulations, ensuring PPE is used correctly and work areas remain clean and organized
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wiring or cable harness assembly
- Proven ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Skilled in soldering, crimping, and working with various connectors and tools
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers
- Experience in quality inspection and testing
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience within automotive, aerospace, or telecommunications industries
