Overview

Want to work on essential energy infrastructure that keeps the lights on?

Authorised Wireman / Fitter required for a leading UK contractor delivering substation and network projects across the NGED region. This role involves working on live electrical infrastructure, carrying out wiring, fitting, and earthing works while managing site safety and permit systems.

You'll be part of a skilled delivery team ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of critical electrical assets. Regular site travel is expected, with occasional overnight stays.

Remuneration

• £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

Responsibilities

• Carry out wiring, fitting, and earthing works on electrical substation sites
• Hold and manage Permit to Work (PTW) and Limitation of Access (LOA) systems
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in full compliance with company safety policies
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors to deliver works efficiently
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and test data

Qualifications

• Current authorisation as a Wireman / Fitter on HV substations
• Valid PTW and LOA certification
• Proven experience in substation or HV electrical environments
• Strong understanding of wiring and earthing systems
• Able to work safely at heights and in confined spaces
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptable to changing site requirements

Desirable qualifications

• City & Guilds 2360 or equivalent electrical qualification
• SSSTS, IPAF, or Telehandler certification
• First Aid at Work
