Job summary

Connect44 in Manchester is seeking a Design Engineer to design and optimize wireless infrastructure across 4G/5G networks, including radio nets, antennas, and transmission systems, to meet coverage and capacity targets.

You will develop site layouts and schematics, perform RF propagation modelling, liaise with vendors and field teams to ensure build feasibility and compliance, and produce CAD drawings, BOMs and installation documentation for construction.

Qualifications

• Design and optimize wireless telecom designs including site layouts and equipment configurations.
• Perform radio planning and RF propagation modelling for 4G/5G and other wireless technologies.
• Assess site surveys and environmental constraints to inform design solutions.
• Liaise with vendors and field teams to ensure build feasibility and compliance with standards.
• Produce CAD drawings, bills of materials, and documentation for construction and installation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review designs for wireless telecom projects including site layouts, schematics, and equipment configurations.
• Perform radio planning and RF propagation modelling for 4G/5G and other wireless technologies.
• Assess site surveys and environmental constraints to inform design solutions.
• Liaise with vendors and field teams to ensure build feasibility and compliance with standards.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings, bills of materials, and documentation for construction and installation.
• Validate network performance metrics through simulations and post-deployment testing.
• Collaborate with Design managers, and overseas departments throughout the project.
