Wiring Technician

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £40,000–£42,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30–16:00 | Friday: 7:30–13:00

Contract: 6 months.

An established and growing engineering organisation is seeking a skilled Wiring Technician to join its production team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in control panel and cabinet wiring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and wire control panels, cabinets, and sub-assemblies from engineering drawings and schematics
  • Cut, ident, lace, loom, and prepare electrical wiring and cabling to high standards
  • Fabricate and test cable and mechanical assemblies
  • Operate specialist tools and adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Support stock control and general production tasks as needed
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in control panel and cabinet wiring
  • Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schedules
  • Familiarity with MOD Naval standards
  • Able to work effectively under minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines
  • Quality-focused with a team-oriented mindset
