Job summary

Amey is seeking Winter Patrol Drivers for Perth Depot to keep Scotland moving through winter. You will operate gritting vehicles, perform inspections and assist highway maintenance under Winter Operations.

Role covers October to March on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with training provided. You’ll work with the NMC North East team, coordinating with emergency services and the public to ensure safe roads.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence.
• Full Driver CPC qualification.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous winter maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate gritting vehicles and other specialist plant and equipment.
• Carry out winter maintenance activities, including gritting, inspections and minor highway maintenance works.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
• Record time, resources and operational activities using company systems.
• Attend team briefings and contribute to safe, efficient operations.
• Work closely with colleagues, clients, emergency services and members of the public.
• Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork.
