Job summary

DXC Technology in the United Kingdom seeks a Wintel Engineer to provide Level 3 support for Windows Server, VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V across DXC-managed environments. You will ensure performance, availability and security through patching, hardening and capacity monitoring, while maintaining CMDB and runbooks.

The role involves on-site work five days per week in Hampshire, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and handling incidents with approved changes within ITIL processes.

Qualifications

• Windows Server operations, patching, hardening and security
• VMware vSphere and Hyper-V provisioning, cloning, migrations
• RDS and remote access services configuration and management
• WSUS, SCCM patching and maintenance within ITIL-aligned processes
• ITIL Incident/Problem/Change/Configuration Management awareness
• Documentation: runbooks, architecture diagrams and SOPs
• Backup validation and failover readiness verification
• Security baselines and CIS benchmark compliance

Responsibilities

• Monitor server and VM performance and capacity trends
• Maintain CMDB records for Windows Server and virtualization assets
• Coordinate changes and patch windows to minimize service disruption
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with diagnostics
• Update runbooks and knowledge articles with current configurations
• Provide stakeholders with updates on planned changes and maintenance windows
• Validate backups and failover readiness; document failover tests
• Apply OS hardening and local security policies to builds in production
