Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking a Wine Development Manager to drive profitable wine sales, grow existing accounts and support Sales Development Managers across the region. You will act as the region's wine specialist, offering expert advice, wine list development, training and category support to create engaging and commercially successful wine offers.

The role requires proven wine knowledge, at least two years in a commercial sales environment, and strong relationship-building and communication

Qualifications

  • Proven wine knowledge and a genuine passion for the wine industry.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a commercial sales environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
  • Confident presenting and delivering engaging training sessions.
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing priorities effectively.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of the local hospitality market and trading area.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable wine sales by securing new business opportunities and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Support Sales Development Managers to maximise wine sales across the region.
  • Build trusted customer relationships through expert advice, wine list development, training and category support.
  • Identify opportunities to increase wine distribution, premiumisation, sales performance and profitability.
  • Deliver wine training, tastings, events and educational support for customers and the sales team.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on promotions, product launches and industry trends.
