Adamas, part of the Galetech group, is recruiting for a wind turbine technician to deliver maintenance and fault rectification on Vestas turbines. The role focuses on ensuring turbine performance, availability, and safety standards while working on-site in the United Kingdom, Scotland—Scottish Borders, Duns.

You will handle scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, with on-call weekend duties and strict adherence to safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in the wind energy industry, preferably with Vestas turbines (V80 experience preferred).
• Knowledge of wind turbine technology, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging conditions.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Fault-find, troubleshoot and repair turbine components (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics).
• Perform proactive component repairs/replacements to prevent downtime.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
• Participate in weekend on-call rota and communicate effectively with team and clients.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the O&M Area Manager, you will be responsible for delivering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services on Vestas wind turbines, with a preference for experience on V80 models. You will play a critical role in ensuring turbine performance, availability, and safety standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Fault Rectification:
• Conduct scheduled maintenance in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.
• Fault-find, troubleshoot, and repair wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic assemblies, and major components.
• Perform proactive component repairs or replacements to prevent turbine downtime.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
• Maintain the highest levels of safety standards on-site.
• On-Call Support:
• Participate in a weekend on-call rota to respond promptly to turbine faults.
• Inventory Management:
• Coordinate and manage local spare parts and consumable stock.
• Communication:
• Effectively communicate with team members, managers, and clients to ensure efficient operations and clear reporting.
