Job summary

The Emerald Group in London is seeking an experienced underwriter to assess and underwrite commercial risks such as SME packages, commercial combined, and property owner risks. You will review risk submissions with brokers, provide pricing recommendations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal frameworks.

Candidates should have a Cert CII or equivalent, and Dip CII with progress toward ACII is preferred.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
• Minimum 3 years of underwriting experience in SME package, commercial combined or property owner risks.
• Knowledge of the UK general insurance market and regulatory practices is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite risks including SME package, commercial combined, property owner and liability risks.
• Review and analyse risk submissions, working with brokers to gather information for risk assessment.
• Provide accurate pricing recommendations and terms following underwriting guidelines and business strategy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and the Underwriting Framework.
