Job summary

A leading managed services provider in Eastleigh is seeking an Overhaul Technician for a 6-month contract. The role involves performing inspections and mechanical repairs on wheelsets within a rolling stock depot. Candidates should possess experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, with knowledge of Health & Safety practices. This position offers competitive hourly pay rates of £20.50 PAYE or £26.91 via umbrella, and requires minimal supervision to complete the necessary tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment.
• Ability to care for tools, equipment and PPE.
• Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial inspections of wheelsets.
• Perform axle bearing removal and prepare bearings for dispatch.
• Execute mechanical repairs and overhauls in a rolling stock depot.

Skills

Mechanical and electrical engineering experience

Basic fault finding

Understanding of Health & Safety

Ability to produce technical reports

Experience with tools and equipment
