Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age‑appropriate activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Curriculum for Wales (as applicable).
  • Use Welsh confidently with children throughout the day to encourage bilingual language development.
  • Assist with the supervision, care, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5.
  • Support children's personal, social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
  • Help with daily routines including meals, toileting, nappy changing, rest time, and outdoor play.
  • Observe and record children's progress and share information with colleagues and parents/carers when required.
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff to support the smooth running of the setting.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, promoting open communication.
  • Assist with setting up and tidying away activities, resources, and equipment.
Essential Criteria
  • Ability to speak Welsh fluently or at a high conversational level.
  • Experience working with young children (professional or voluntary).
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
