Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age‑appropriate activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Curriculum for Wales (as applicable).
- Use Welsh confidently with children throughout the day to encourage bilingual language development.
- Assist with the supervision, care, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5.
- Support children's personal, social, emotional, and educational development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
- Help with daily routines including meals, toileting, nappy changing, rest time, and outdoor play.
- Observe and record children's progress and share information with colleagues and parents/carers when required.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff to support the smooth running of the setting.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, promoting open communication.
- Assist with setting up and tidying away activities, resources, and equipment.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh fluently or at a high conversational level.
- Experience working with young children (professional or voluntary).
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding.
