Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking a fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Welsh-medium primary schools across Newport and Ebbw Vale.

You will assist teachers, work with individuals and small groups, and help develop Welsh language confidence in a welcoming classroom environment. Various day-to-day supply placements with weekly pay are available.

This role offers flexibility to choose days that suit you and the opportunity to gain experience across multiple Welsh-medium schools.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speakers and confident using Welsh in school settings.
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school is essential.
• Experience supporting primary-aged children.
• Enthusiastic, dependable and comfortable adapting to different classrooms.
• Supportive and encouraging approach to children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support within Welsh-medium primary schools.
• Assist teachers with lesson activities and help pupils stay engaged.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Support pupils' confidence, communication and social development.
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive Welsh-language learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across different schools.
