Role: Wellbeing Practitioner – Prison Lead

Join our dynamic Personal Wellbeing services, commissioned by HMPPS, and help support adult male ex-offenders across four key pathways:

  • Family and Significant Others
  • Lifestyle and Associates
  • Emotional Wellbeing Services
  • Social Inclusion

As a Wellbeing Practitioner – Prison Lead, you will manage a caseload of service users, conducting assessments and delivering one-to-one and group interventions. You’ll work in close collaboration with HMPPS, voluntary organizations, and other justice partners to help individuals rehabilitate, reduce risks, and build better futures.

You will be based at one of our hubs with regular travel across your designated cluster. Available hubs: Tottenham, Croydon, Romford, Canning Town, Kings Cross, Brixton, Ealing, and Lewisham. (Please indicate your preferred base in your application.)

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Adaptable and professional: Comfortable working in challenging environments with a calm, confident approach.
  • A strong communicator: Able to build effective working relationships and motivate service users.
  • Risk-aware: Skilled at recognizing and managing risks to ensure safety for all.
  • Organised and detail-oriented: Capable of managing a caseload, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
  • Impact-driven: Passionate about supporting individuals to make positive life changes.

Essential:

  • Basic education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Evidence of continual professional development.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in criminology, social care, mental health, or similar fields.

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £28,551

Location: Community-based with travel across London.
