Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Assistant for Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol to support a broad activities programme that enhances residents’ physical, cognitive and social wellbeing.

You will work with the Wellbeing Coordinator to deliver engaging activities, foster community links, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. DBS checks are required and support to obtain them is provided.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with residents and colleagues.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• Genuine care for older adults and dementia awareness.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the resident’s physical, cognitive, and social well-being.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Maintaininga safe living and working environment,contributing to the positive and professional image of thehome.
• Reporting any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff.
• Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
• Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

• Have previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.
