Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm Wellbeing and Activities Assistant for Spencer House Care Home in Northampton. You will support the Wellbeing Coordinator to provide engaging activities that boost residents’ physical, cognitive, and social wellbeing, while fostering a caring and inclusive atmosphere.

Ideal candidates demonstrate empathy, effective communication, and a positive attitude toward older adults, including those with dementia; prior experience in residential settings is valued.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and written/verbal skills.
• Understanding of how interaction supports wellbeing.
• Positive attitude toward older people and social activities.
• Experience with older people in dementia settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe living and working environment and uphold a professional image of the home.
• Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for activities as directed.
• Build links with local communities to promote intergenerational activity.
