Experienced / Trainee Welding & Fabrication Tutor

Location : Norwich

Salary : £28,000 – £38,000 per annum (DOE)

Type : Full-time, permanent

Hours : Mon–Fri, 08 : 30–16 : 30 (40 hrs / week)

About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing engineering training provider offering commercial and industrial courses across welding, fabrication and wider engineering disciplines. Their Norwich campus boasts excellent transport links and world-class workshop facilities at the city centre site.

Role Overview

They’re seeking an experienced Welding & Fabrication Tutor—or a skilled Welder / Fabricator keen to transition into teaching—to join their team. You’ll plan and deliver both practical workshops and classroom theory, coach apprentices through hands‑on welding and fabrication tasks, and help them achieve industry-standard competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate MMA, TIG & MIG welding techniques across plate, pipe and mixed materials
  • Deliver practical workshops in safe tool and equipment operation
  • Plan and deliver theory lessons covering welding processes, safety and best practice
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to apprentices
  • Enforce Health & Safety regulations and instil rigorous safety procedures
  • Prepare high-quality lesson plans, weld procedures and assessment records
  • Adhere to all centre policies and the staff handbook
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven MMA, TIG & MIG welding skills in a commercial / industrial environment
  • Broad knowledge of welding materials, joint types and fabrication techniques
  • Certification in welding or a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. CSWIP, NVQ Level 3)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable
  • Teaching or assessor qualification (in-house training provided)
  • Previous experience in apprenticeship delivery or vocational education
