Job summary

Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion are seeking an enthusiastic Welding and Fabrication Lecturer to join our Engineering team. The role involves delivering practical and theoretical teaching across Levels 1–3, developing materials, and supporting learner progress in a dynamic FE environment.

Candidates should have MMA, MIG, TIG welding experience and a strong workshop background, with a teaching qualification or commitment to obtain one within 2 years. Welsh language skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Essential: Binding welding/fabrication qualification and teaching credential.
• Experience delivering MMA, MIG, TIG welding and fabrication.
• Proven ability to supervise workshops safely and manage learners.
• Strong communication, organisation and adaptability in FE settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging welding and fabrication teaching across Levels 1–3.
• Develop curriculum materials and practical assignments aligned to industry standards.
• Support learner progress and progression into industry or higher education.
• Collaborate with employers and colleagues to keep programmes current.
• Maintain high workshop safety and equipment maintenance standards.
