Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or proven experience in Fabrication & Welding.
  • Knowledge of Word & Excel packages.
  • Structural welding experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Portable Arc Monitoring Systems.

Job description

As a Welding Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to enhance and further develop your technical knowledge within a supportive environment. Day-to-day, you'll support the Welding Engineer and Welding Development Manager with tender review re-equipment status, procedure qualification and welder qualification, as well as implementation of test programme.

Responsibilities
  • Co-ordination of NDT and Mechanical testing for procedure qualification.
  • Conduct planned welding surveillance requirements before, during and after welding.
  • Maintenance of welder qualifications and training and qualification of sub-contract welders.
  • Review consumable certification and authorisation for issue from stores.
  • Monitoring application of welding procedure specifications and Provide welding Research and Development trials to facilitate production improvements in welding both structural and pipe joints.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Essential Experience
  • Apprenticeship or proven experience in Fabrication & Welding.
  • Knowledge of Word & Excel packages.
  • Portable Arc Monitoring System experience.
  • Structural welding experience.
Qualifications
  • HNC or equivalent in welding fabrication.
