Welder / Fitter

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Welder / Fitter to join our well-established client based in Heywood, Greater Manchester on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity offering an excellent annual salary, great benefits, and genuine opportunities for career progression.

Hours
  • 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday – 08:00am to 04:30pm
  • Friday – 08:00am to 03:30pm
Salary

£35,000 per annum

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Welder / Fitter, your duties will include (but not be limited to) :

  • MIG welding to a good standard
  • Reading and working from technical drawings
  • Fabricating brackets, jigs and components
  • Jig and assembly work
  • Preparing materials for painting
  • Painting to a basic workshop standard
  • Installing hydraulic equipment on vehicles
  • Fitting and repairing fifth wheel assemblies
  • Completing daily / monthly workshop checks
  • Using computer systems to process documentation
  • Occasional off-site service or warranty work
  • Following company procedures and health & safety rules
Essential Experience
  • MIG Welding Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years’ workshop or fabrication experience
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems
Desirable Experience
  • HGV Class 1 (desirable)
  • FLT licence (desirable – training can be provided)
Training Provided

Full training provided, with ongoing development support
