Zenith People are working with our client who have a rare opportunity for a Time-served Welder to join their business on a permanent basis. You must be time-served in Welding and Fabrication to join our heavy engineering team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG welding, capable of working from engineering drawings, and experienced in welding components ranging from 1mm to 30mm in thickness. This is a hands‑on role requiring precision, safety awareness, and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Perform MIG welding on mild steel components ranging from 1mm to 30mm thickness.
  • Fabricate and assemble heavy engineering structures and components.
  • Operate welding equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure weld quality and compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other fabricators to resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Perform grinding, cutting, and finishing tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in MIG welding within a heavy engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with welding safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Welding/Fabrication().
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
