Fabricator Welder

Location: Marden
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary/Hours: £19.00 - £20.00 per hour, weekly pay. 47.5 hours per week. 7am - 5pm

Join a busy steel fabrication and engineering company based in Marden as a Fabricator Welder. This role is ideal for individuals who are experienced in both light and heavy sheet metalwork, including structural and architectural fabrication. The successful candidate will be proficient with all workshop skills and equipment and capable of working from drawings.

Day-to-day of the role
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools.
  • Work with a variety of materials such as light and heavy sheet metal in structural and architectural fabrication projects.
  • Operate cutting saws to cut various metals, and weld and bolt components together.
  • Inspect and test welds and equipment for durability and to ensure they meet safety standards and specifications.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials, and timeframes for projects.
  • Maintain and manage equipment, ensuring that all tools are in good working order and stored properly.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in fabricating and welding, with a strong background in both light and heavy sheet metalwork.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and tools including welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and precision in metal fabrication.
