Job Overview

We are working with a small engineering company based in East Hanningfield who are looking for a MIG Welder Fabricator to join their expanding team. The role is a mix of workshop and site based so you will need a driver’s licence for this role. Also due to location you will need to have your own transport.

About the Company

The company manufactures operating shafts, staircases, flap valves, hand railings, access covers, platforms and walkways, escape ladders etc.

Compensation and Hours

The hourly rate for this role is up to £18ph depending on your skills and experience. Core hours are 7am till 4:30pm Monday to Friday when workshop based and usually 5:30am to 4:30pm when site based, but these can change for site work.

MIG Welder Duties
  • MIG Welding
  • Fabrication using guillotines, press brakes, Sanders, Bandsaws, etc.
  • Using lathes and mills
  • Working on a variety of steel work and architectural projects
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Grinding (use of 110v/240v 4.5" & 9" grinders)
  • Drilling (use of pillar drill magnetic drill)
  • Oxy/acetylene cutting & forming
  • Fabricating staircases, platforms, hand rails, bridges, ladders etc.
  • Be happy to work in the workshop and undertake site installations
Skills & Experience Needed
  • Ability to MIG weld
  • Fabrication using guillotines, press brakes, hand tools etc.
  • Ideally experience with architectural metalwork
  • Team player who is happy to work on site when necessary
Employment Details

This is a permanent role subject to passing a 13 week probation.
