Job Description

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 5 years GTAW (TIG) Welding experience.
  • Expert understanding of weld schedule and process sheet interpretation
  • Ability to critically assess weld drawings for accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively across all product lines.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain certifications required per department requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced new welders.
  • Must pass Visual Acuity exam.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply principles of TIG welding.
  • Perform welding functions in an area and/or product line outside of your home department.
  • Perform set up of jigs and fixtures; Perform non-structural tack welds.
  • Perform secondary processing operations.
  • Maintain welding equipment torches, coolers, hoses, cables, and other equipment as needed.
  • Work in compliance to NADCAP requirements.
  • Must pass review for workmanship, procedure reviews, operator assessment, & refresher training.
  • Train other employees in area based on department and production needs.
  • Qualify new welds for process improvement and new product development.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with support functions; serve as a knowledge base for process improvement and new product development.
  • Lead team initiatives.
  • Take an active role in continuous improvement including but not limited to, Quick Fixes, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause analysis, APPS, etc.
  • Frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering).
  • Exemplifies and coaches’ others on the GE Behaviors.
  • Utilizes proper PPE, safety equipment and follows all safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition and sit
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20lbs; ability to push/pull up to 20 – 25 lbs.

The pay for this position is $28/hr. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 2/28/26.
