Job description
Welder – Wigan – Days – £35,200 + Overtime (x1.5)

Permanent | Growing Engineering Business | Overtime Available Daily + Saturdays

Lodestone Recruitment is working with an established engineering company in Wigan who are experiencing sustained growth and a strong order book. As a result, they are looking to add an experienced Welder to their team on a permanent day shift.

Key Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should ideally have :

  • Apprentice-trained or time-served background in Welding.
  • Experience within heavy engineering sectors such as Defence, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or Structural Steel.
  • Experience working to coded standards in MAG and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
  • Strong ability in MIG / MAG welding on Mild and Carbon Steel.
  • Previous coding in fillet and butt welds on Mild Steel and High Nickel Alloys.
Weld Test Requirements

The on-site weld test will involve welding a 25mm thick plate :

  • MAG – Downhand, welding halfway up the plate
  • FCAW – Vertical up, completing the remainder
What’s on Offer
  • Salary : £35,200 + overtime paid at x1.5
  • Shifts : Regular days
  • Hours : 39 hours per week
  • Overtime : Approx. 2 hours per day available + every Saturday (all paid at time-and-a-half)
  • Contract : Permanent
  • Pension : Company pension scheme
