Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Derby seeks an experienced Welder to join a busy engineering and manufacturing team on a long-term project. You will primarily TIG-weld stainless steel frames, reading drawings and bench-welding in a production setting, delivering ~8 frames daily with quality and reliability.

The role offers a 12-month contract, potential overtime, and a secure workload within a growing manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Strong TIG welding experience on stainless steel.

Location: Derby

Rate: £19.00 - £20.00 per hour (Outside IR35)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Duration: 12-Month Contract

We are looking for2 Weldersto join a busy engineering and manufacturing business in Derby on a long-term project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experiencedWelderwith strong TIG welding skills who is looking for consistent work, overtime opportunities, and a secure contract with a substantial workload.

The successfulWelderwill be working primarily with stainless steel, producing box section frame assemblies for an ongoing customer project. The business has a significant pipeline of work and is looking to strengthen its welding team with skilled TIG professionals who can hit the ground running.

The Role

As aWelder, you will be responsible for:

• TIG welding stainless steel frames
• Working from engineering drawings
• Bench welding in a production environment
• Producing high-quality box section frame assemblies
• Meeting daily production targets of approximately 8 frames per day
• Supporting a major project delivery programme
• Maintaining quality standards throughout manufacture

The welding process has been designed for repeatability, with dedicated jigs being introduced to ensure consistency and make production as straightforward as possible. Each frame typically requires around 30 minutes of welding time.
