Job description

CNC Recruitment is seeking for Semi-Skilled Welders to join our client in Chard area - a well-known engineering company in the Southwest area.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in various welding techniques and possess mechanical knowledge to fabricate and assemble metal components.

Location – Crewkerne

Job type – Temporary ongoing

Working hours – Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 13.00pm including 2 x breaks

Salary – up to £16 an hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using different techniques such as stick welding
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to engineering drawings
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet standards

Qualifications

• Proficient in welding techniques including stick welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Skilful in using hand tools and power tools for metalwork
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
• Mechanical knowledge for fabricating and assembling metal components
• Experience with sheet metal is advantageous
