Job summary

A housing authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a Welder to provide essential welding services within properties. The role involves ensuring safety standards are met, collaborating with tenants to schedule work, and identifying ways to improve service delivery. Job description

To contribute, to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive service to support NIHE business delivery by providing a welding service in Housing Executive properties while upholding safety guidelines and complying with all applicable Codes and Regulations in line with our vision and values.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake all welding work associated with the maintenance and refurbishment of Housing Executive stock / buildings etc.
  • To ensure the health and safety of our tenants, especially vulnerable tenants when undertaking work in occupied properties.
  • To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss work required etc.
  • To work effectively to maximise output and ensure delivery within expected timescales.
  • To identify and highlight to supervisors potential opportunities for changes to working practices to ensure continuous service improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Welding (either time served or skills based).
  • Have a minimum of one year’s relevant post apprenticeship experience working in a Welding environment.
Further Information

Hours are normally 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4pm on Friday (can be confirmed on appointment).
