Welder / Fabricator

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Salary: up to £35,000 starting salary

Hours: 37.5 hours per week + Overtime (paid at 1.5x)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator on behalf of a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Solihull. This is a permanent opportunity with a highly reputable and growing business, offering excellent long-term prospects, competitive pay, and an attractive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • MIG welding of mild and stainless steel (2mm - 15mm)
  • Interpreting and working from engineering drawings
  • Fabricating components for bespoke commercial vehicles
  • Carrying out positional welding to a high standard
  • Using overhead cranes for safe material handling
  • Working closely with the fabrication and engineering teams to meet production deadlines
Requirements
  • Proven experience in MIG/MAG welding
  • Experience working with both mild and stainless steel
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Skilled in positional welding
  • Experience using overhead cranes (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
Working Hours

Rotating weekly shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday - 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Thursday - 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday - 2:00pm to 7:00pm
  • 37.5 hours per week, with regular overtime available at 1.5x
