Job summary

Laker Vent Engineering Ltd is seeking skilled Welder (Piping) for on-site work at Bridgwater on the Hinkley Point C project. Opportunity to mobilise onto Scotland project while security vetting is completed, with a focus on TIG welding of stainless and carbon piping.

Expect on-site work with long shifts and a rotation pattern, plus travel and accommodation covered. Pay includes a bonus and a generous rate, with potential for extended engagement on a major UK energy project.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 / Trade Apprenticeship.
• CCNSG Safety Passport - Desirable (training can be provided if required)
• Demonstrated experience with TIG welding in a site-based environment
• Familiarity with welding procedures and acceptance criteria for NDT and visual inspection
• Security clearance/vetting will be required

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on stainless and carbon steel piping to project standards.
• Work on site with adherence to safety and quality procedures.
• Assist with NDT/visual inspection acceptance criteria as required.
• Be prepared to mobilise onto other projects during vetting period.

We are looking for reliable, experienced pipe welders with proven experience in TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems. There may be opportunity for you to mobilise onto other projects while your security vetting is being completed.

Rates/Working hours

• Basic PAYE: £29.34/hr OT1: £41.08/hr OT2: £52.82/hr
• Bonus: £2.94/hr
• 10.5-hour shifts
• 10/4 rotation (Rotations start on Tuesday)
• Travel and accommodation paid in addition to earnings
• Projected annual earnings: £91,854 before tax (including bonus, based on the expected working pattern. Not including travel + accom)
• Accommodation allowance: £362.50/week
