Job summary

Veolia Wirral is seeking a Weighbridge Clerk to join our team on a 40-hour week, with one Saturday and one Sunday per month on a rolling rota. The site is in Wirral, CH41 1EB, offering a supportive environment with development opportunities.

Your duties include welcoming and processing waste and disposal vehicles, operating the weighbridge to record weights, checking delivery notes for compliance, directing vehicles to disposal areas, and providing admin support while upholding PPE and safety

Qualifications

• Experience in admin, customer-facing, logistics, waste or weighbridge roles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to operate weighbridge system accurately.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Health, safety and environmental compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and processing incoming waste and disposal vehicles.
• Checking delivery notes and waste documentation for Duty of Care compliance.
• Operating the weighbridge to record vehicle weights on arrival and departure.
• Directing vehicles to tipping or disposal areas per site instructions.
• Completing relevant documentation for Waste Recycling Centre referrals.
• Ensuring drivers and visitors wear PPE before entering operational areas.
• Maintaining weighbridge records and daily data downloads.
• Acting as first point of contact for calls, visitors and site communications.
• Providing general admin support, including ordering site goods and payroll documentation.
• Covering colleagues during annual leave or short-notice absences.
• Working in line with site safety procedures and environmental requirements.
