Job summary

Capability Scotland operates the Youthzone service in Edinburgh and is seeking Weekend Support Workers/Practitioners to join the Riccarton & Craigmillar hubs (EH14, EH16).

You will support disabled children and young people with engaging activities, personal care when needed, and inclusive, safe interactions. This weekend role offers Saturdays/Sundays hours and pays £13.45 per hour, with funded SVQ training available.

Qualifications

• What matters most is your energy, empathy, and enthusiasm for helping young people thrive.
• Flexible, reliable, and positive in all situations.
• Driving licence desirable but not essential.
• SVQ3/HNC in Childcare (desirable) with full training and funded SVQ available.

Responsibilities

• Build confidence, self-help and social skills in young people.
• Help them make friends and feel part of a community.
• Encourage meaningful, fun activities and trips into the community.
• Provide personal care as required while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Foster a positive, safe and inclusive environment for all.
• Support planning and delivery of weekend activities.
