Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an experienced cook for the Station Cook Stopsley (Weekend) role in Stopsley. The position is 10 hours per week, weekend only, 0900–1400, with a pro-rated 25 days holiday and LGPS.

You will plan, prepare and cook menus for on-duty crews, maintain food safety, complete cleaning routines under SFBB, and provide relief cover for the Weekday Station Cook as needed. A driving licence and basic hygiene cert are required.

Competenze

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• City & Guilds Basic Cookery Certificate (706/1) / Cookery for the Catering Industry (706/2) or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Current full driving licence with no pending issues.
• Some experience in commerce/industrial catering as a Cook.
• Ability to plan, prepare and cook a variety of menus.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Work to a high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• A thorough understanding of food safety is crucial, and you must hold a basic food hygiene certificate.

Mansioni

• Saturday and Sunday 0900 to 1400 – 10 hours per week.
• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of menus to high standard.
• Carry out cleaning routines under Safer Food Better Business scheme.
• Provide relief cover for the Weekday Station Cook when required.
• Shop for and purchase food daily; maintain hygiene standards.
