Job summary

A local support organization in the Preston area seeks Weekend Personal Assistants to work with children who have additional needs. The role involves engaging these children in various activities and providing supportive care for approximately 6 hours over the weekend. Ideal candidates will have experience with children with ADHD or Autism and must be enthusiastic and reliable. A driving license is also desirable.

Job Overview

Weekend Personal Assistants required – Fulwood, Preston area – LILS/EM/RSMS

Hours: 6 hours per week per child (weekends – flexible over 1 or 2 days). Hourly Rate: £12.21.

We are looking for one/two dedicated and compassionate support workers to work individually with two children who have additional needs. The role involves supporting each child for 6 hours per week, ideally on weekends. Hours can be worked as one full day or split over two days, depending on availability and suitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage the children in social and recreational activities such as:
    • Sports and football
    • Park visits
    • Trips to shops
    • Going out for food and drinks
  • Encourage independence and social interaction in community settings.
  • Provide consistent support and manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
Requirements
  • Experience or knowledge of working with children with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Ability to manage and respond to challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner.
  • Reliable, responsible, and enthusiastic about supporting children to have fun and engage in their communities.
  • A car owner/driver is desirable for ease of travel to and from activities – including proof of business cover.
