Job description

A globally renowned, market-leading engineering organisation are looking to hire a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a Weekend shift (6AM 6PM) Saturday and Sunday.

The role would be 24 hours per week and on an ongoing contract basis. This could suit someone with employment elsewhere looking for extra hours or someone looking for a part‑time position.

The focus will be able to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

  • To provide engineering resource in carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements and modification or upgrade to plant and services to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment in the best possible condition.
  • To strive towards continuous improvement of all machinery and equipment to effectively reduce engineering downtime, thereby maintaining plant availability, efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
  • To carry out all engineering work to high Engineering, Quality and Safety standards.
  • Deliver turn‑key improvement projects in a timely and cost‑efficient manner.

The rate quoted is an inside IR35 umbrella company rate.

To be considered for this position you must have strong industry experience, ideally with welding, fabrication and or machining skills. You will have experience in a fast‑paced engineering / manufacturing environment along with a formal qualification in a mechanical engineering related discipline (NVQ Level or higher required).
