Job summary

A leading manufacturer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician in Livingston. You will perform repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring high standards and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have a City & Guilds qualification and experience in fault finding. This role offers a competitive salary of £38,400 - £39,200 per annum and the opportunity to develop within a globally recognized manufacturing site. Flexibility for weekend shifts is required.

Qualifications

Maintenance Electrician (Weekend Working) - Permanent Position - Livingston

Day shift Night Shift

Friday 6am to 6pm

Friday 6pm-6am

Sat 6am to 6pm

Sat 6pm-6am

Sun 6am to 6pm

Sun 6pm-6am

Monday 6am :12pm

About the Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard. You will respond promptly to plant breakdowns and use your fault-finding and problem-solving skills to resolve equipment failures. Your work will contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Perform electrical installations and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using computer-based systems.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Time-served Electrician with City & Guilds 2360, HNC, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record in fault finding and reading technical/electrical drawings.
  • Experience in using test equipment and performing hands‑on electrical repairs.
  • Competent with electrical installations and scheduled maintenance work.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Computer literate and able to manage basic digital records and systems.
