Job summary

Wec Group Ltd in Lancashire is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Operator to work in a medium to high batch machining cell, interpreting drawings and programming, setting up and running CNC machines. You will select tools, monitor quality, maintain machinery, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement, while upholding H&S and quality standards.

Experience with large machining up to 10t and 6m length, strong programming skills, and ability to work

Qualifications

• Experience with large machining up to 10t weight and 6m length.
• Strong programming experience.
• Highest standards of H&S and Quality are essential.
• Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Working with various materials including exotic grade alloys.
• Understanding of engineering drawing, tooling selection, work holding & cutting strategy is essential.
• Good communicator at all levels, with ability to integrate and support a team.

Responsibilities

• Working within a predominantly medium to high batch machining cell.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
• Program, set-up, and operate CNC machines.
• Choose and prepare the right tools and materials for each job.
• Monitor CNC machines to guarantee quality in production runs.
• Conduct regular maintenance routines on machinery.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams for continuous improvement.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols.
• Diagnose and resolve challenges during production.
• Stay updated on machining techniques and control systems.
